Recently, former U.S. President George H.W. Bush let the unalloyed truth about his late wife, former first lady Barbara Bush, be known. It was the first public announcement since Barbara's passing at the age of 92.

In the Twitter post, the former president shared the deep affection felt toward his darling wife:

I always knew Barbara was the most beloved woman in the world, and in .fact I used to tease her that I had a complex about that fact.

According to Bush's Office Chief of Staff Jean Becker, Mr. Bush was at his wife's side, holding her hand at the day of her death.

Barbara was 92, having successfully battled congestive heart failure and COPD. Mr. Bush is 92 now, bound to a wheelchair with a Parkinson-like disease.


Mr. Bush gave credit for many good wishes sent his way, letting everyone know that his family will be in good fettle. He referred to his wife as 'The Enforcer', using this term to express endearment bestowed by the Bush family.
