The death of a loved one is an ordeal no one deserves. But sometimes even this tragedy doesn’t stand in the way of people’s dreams. Earlier we wrote about a girl who “married” her beloved, even though he was no longer alive. The loss of a loved one is never expected. But what about those who get married despite a terminal illness and are well aware of the fact that their union will not be long?

Darren and Lauren
Lauren and Darren Easton knew each other since their youth. The couple met in a London hospital: both suffered from cystic fibrosis (an incurable hereditary disease with severe impairment of respiratory function and the digestive tract).
They knew that their lives would be short, but they wanted to make them full anyway. On the eve of 2015, Lauren and Darren started dating. They stayed together even when the young man's health started getting worse.
At the end of 2018, the doctors said that Darren had only a few weeks to live. Thanks to caring people, on December 6, the couple had the wedding of their dreams right in the hospital. 48 days later, Lauren became a widow: her beloved managed to live a little longer than predicted.
Darren spent his last weeks together with his wife. She worried that there would come a day when she would no longer remember his voice. However, almost immediately after his death, Lauren received an unexpected gift. It was a teddy bear that spoke in Darren’s voice.
Hi baby, just saying I love you and I miss you. You’ll be my world forever and always.
Now, we can be sure Lauren won’t forget Darren’s voice.
What do people feel when they know they won’t grow old together?
Nicole and Phil
Nicole Hastings has been helping others cope with their loss for several years. She met her future husband about a year after he had overcome cancer. As often happens, the disease returned. Phil was ready that Nicole would leave him, but she didn’t.
The decision to get married came as a surprise for both – they hadn’t even thought about it! They tied the knot on February 28, 2009. Nicole and Phil had three children, and on November 20, 2013, he passed away. Nicole became a widow at 28. But if Nicole had an opportunity to go back in time, she wouldn’t have changed a thing, because the love they had was worth it.
Alec and Samantha
Mirror also shared a touching and tragic story of a couple who was married for only 6 days. The late wife of 38-year-old Alec Webster was only 33 when she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Samantha dreamed of a beautiful wedding and a big family. Her first desire was fulfilled, but not the second one. They had very little time; the girl passed away 2 months later.

Such stories prove that there is true love that doesn’t fade in the face of hardships. How many people are capable of doing something like that? What do you think?
