Useful Tips For Cleaning TV, Remote And Speakers

You may have wondered what the best ways to clean your television is. Attacking it with a washcloth and soapy water does not seem right but you also don't need dust and dirt ruining your experience while watching your favorite TV show

To clean your flatscreen TV and all the other accessories, you will need a few basic ingredients:

  • A Windex glass & Multi-Surface Cleaner;
  • microfiber cloth
  • electronic wipes;
  • vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment.

For TV Screen

  1. Be sure to unplug the TV set before getting started
  2. Spritz some window cleaner on a soft cloth and wipe the screen. Use a dry cloth to buff the surface. It is never a good idea to spray the solution directly onto the screen.
  3. If you have a more delicate LCD or rare projection screens, dust them with a dry microfiber cloth.
  4. You can gently clean any stubborn smudge with electronic wipes.
  5. Buttons and other nooks and crannies of the TV can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth.

For TV remote

Regardless of how it may look, your remote controls definitely need some cleaning. Just take a moment to think about all the food-stained hands that touch it during the course of the day.

  1. Use the cleaning wipe to give it a once-over on both sides. An electronic or all-purpose wipe will work for this.
  2. Wrap a clean wipe around your fingertip so you can use your nail to scrape off any stubborn goo or stain.
  3. With another wipe, wrap your fingertip again and work on the difficult-to-reach crevices and spaces around the button.
  4. Leave to air-dry.

Speakers

  1. If they are removable, detach the fabric that covers your speakers. You can find out if they are removable by checking your manual.
  2. Using your upholstery tool, vacuum both sides to remove dust and lint that often get stuck there.
  3. If the cover cannot be removed, you can clean the front with the vacuum.
  4. If you have a rigid, screen-like speaker covers, you may clean them using a well-wrung microfiber cloth.

Now that you have the above tips handy, keeping your TV and its accessories clean should no longer be a problem. To prevent too much buildup of dust, dirt and fingerprint smudges on these devices, it's a good idea to clean them as often as possible.
