Overweight Woman Discovers Water-Drinking Hack And Sheds 105 Pounds In A Year

Maryn Teed is an amazing and inspirational woman who became famous on Instagram because of her fitness journey.

She weighed 300 pounds once, and even though it made her unhappy, she could not pull herself together to start doing something about her extra weight.

Until one day she saw herself in the pictures taken during a barbecue event and was shocked at what she saw. In July 2016, she realized she wanted to become a different person.im_fixing_me / Instagram

The first step to solving a problem is to understand the problem itself and Maryn eventually did. She started her new life on August the 1st by changing her eating habits.

Sadly, everything that she loved so much – pasta, ice-cream, cheese, butter - were turning into fat folds on her body. She did not cut them out completely, but resized the portions until realized that she could live without junk food.

But the biggest discovery for Teed was how water consumption contributes to the fat loss process. She told Popsugar: 

I'd drink half my body weight in water every day. So when I weighed 300 pounds, I'd drink 150 fluid ounces of water a day.

That water hack was priceless for Maryn as she could see the results. In the beginning, she forced herself to consume that daily amount, but it gradually became a habit!

I'd fill specific water bottles and keep them in my fridge or on me, and I would just make sure that before I'd go to bed that I would have finished all of them off. I actually used my Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee cups and would just fill them up and drink two with every main meal.

Later she added fitness training. Maryn fell in love with working out, and she started a program developed specially for her by a personal trainer.im_fixing_me / Instagram

A year after she started to live a new, healthy life, she had shed 105 pounds! Her words encourage those who are only at the beginning of a fitness path:

Any progress is positive. It's not about how fast you do it; you just need to do it. Remember you're human — you'll slip up, but just keep moving forward!
