Taking The Plunge: Couple Get Married Underwater Where They First Met
The idea of underwater weddings sound cheesy at most, but they are becoming fairly popular for destination weddings. Intending couples are now taking the plunge by having their weddings underwater, taking the ‘trash the dress’ trend to a whole new level of cuteness.
After a four-year courtship, a British Army sergeant and a former diving instructor took the plunge for an underwater wedding in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
The couple staged the unusual event using an underwater tablet to exchange wedding vows.
In 2013, the groom Thomas Mould, who is from England, traveled to the Amoray Dive Resort in the Keys for on an Army adventure training dive trip. That was where he first met the bride Sandra Hyde, who worked as an instructor.
The couple had connected instantly. Sandra traveled a few times to Leicester, England while Thomas in turn visited her in the United States.
The pair initially planned to get married at a summer wedding in an old English church but instead opted for an underwater wedding in the Keys. This would prove to not only be more suitable, but less expensive.
The couple is honeymooning in Florida, and would return to live in England.
