4 Ways Work-At-Home Parents Can Stay Active
While working from home comes with many perks, such as being with your kids, holding meetings in your PJs (well, the bottom half maybe) and being able to get a few things done around the house while you make some money, it also comes with a major drawback. Sometimes, you may realize that you had been at your desk all day and never get to do much in terms of physical activities.
However, like most things in the world, there's always a solution. You can find little ways to get some exercise even though you're sitting in front of the computer for most of the day.

1. Take walks
Sometimes, taking a quick break to walk around the block (maybe even taking your kids along) once or twice can help get your heart pumping. Besides, you will return to work feeling refreshed and more energized. Getting out in the sunshine has some mental, as well as physical benefits.
2. Use YouTube
The beauty of the internet is that there is an unlimited number of ideas. You can find a couple of 5-10-minute exercises that you can adopt in between work and during short breaks.

Another way to employ 2-3 minutes workout into your daily routine. If you find yourself needing a little bit of mental and physical boost, turn on your favourite music and start moving. This can do wonders for your body both in the long and short-term.
4. Get a fancy desk
If you can afford it, get a desk that gives you the chance to get some moving done. There is the treadmill desk and even what is known as a fitdesk. The latter is a desk with a stationary bike attached. These can help you be more active while at work.

Keep in mind that a sedentary lifestyle can lead to an increased risk of heart disease and cancer. It can also greatly increase your chances of getting type 2 diabetes. However, getting up even for a minute at intervals can significantly combat these risks. So, get moving.
