Iman Shumpert Shares Daddy-Daughter Tweet And It Ends Up Inspiring Other Fathers To Do The Same
Being a father is a very special privilege and seeing daddies bond with their children is super sweet. While mums are more likely to be the one sharing the day-to-day of their motherhood experiences on social media, these days, men are also stepping up and it really warms our hearts to see.
American professional basketball player Iman Shumpert unintentionally began a trend that brought smiles to the faces of Twitter users. He posted a photo of himself with his baby daughter and his caption was what inspired more dads to do the same.
This father stuff will turn you soft man, really soft.

Of course, these days, you never can tell what kind of reactions you will get from Twitter posts like these but we are incredibly glad that there was nothing but love for this man and his message. Even better, more fathers were very proud to be 'soft' for their babies and they began posting pictures of themselves on daddy duties. So basically, before we knew it, we were bombarded by loads of photos and videos of daddies and their kids and we can look at them all day long.

Shumpert and his wife, Teyana Taylor, had their daughter, Iman Tayla Shumpert, in December 2015. In fact, Shumpert was the 'hands-on' dad right from the very beginning. A day after their baby girl was born, Teyana Taylor posted an Instagram photo with a caption that described the very surprising turn of event.
In her post, she explained that she unexpectedly went into labour in their bathroom and it was not until she felt the baby's head that she knew it was happening. Minutes and "two ten count pushes" later, her baby emerged, falling into Shumpert's bare arms.
"Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr," she said in the post. "Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you."
On Dec 16th at 6:42am in our bathroom Junie decided she wanted to take her first breath into this world. She came out as a wonderful surprise to everyone! Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head...it took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr and she entered this world into his bare hands! Eyes full of tears and barely able to speak to the emergency operator @imanshumpert tied a pair of red headphones around the umbilical cord and the ambulance made there grand entrance 5 min later. She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried! He handed her to me wrapped in our bath towel and wiped her face for me to see what LOVE really is. She has blown Christmas away! Our family is complete. Her blueprint will be unmatched. Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you. #MeetTheParents we love you baby girl????????????????????
What a beautiful story that very much describes the many surprises that come with motherhood. We imagine that being the first to hold your newborn daughter has got to have a pretty special effect on you and it's so cute to see that Shumpert's bond with his girl is still going strong.
