1. Cut off their food supply

Pests need to eat too and they like staying close to food sources which include crumbs and debris. Ensure you completely clean and clear leftover food. Don't leave dirty dishes in the sink for too long and certainly not overnight.

Clean behind cabinets and appliances too as these are where the love to hide. Make sure your garbage bins are tightly closed and take them out regularly.

2. Don't give them a place to hide

Cockroaches need to have their hiding spots and corners. So, make sure you clear things like stacks of paper, cardboard boxes and anything else you may have laying around.

3. Use baits, not sprays

Most pesticides can contaminate foods and cooking utensils which can bring a whole different set of issues. So, instead of using them, opt for baits instead. They are cleaner and less risky to use.

4. Find their entry points and seal them

Roaches come in through cracks or even torn window screens. To keep them from invading your home, seal whatever gaps, indoors and outdoors, that may serve as entry points.

You should also inspect the things you bring home too. Groceries delivery or old furniture brought in may be home to a couple of cockroaches.
