Woman Sits On The Classroom Floor To Nurse Her Baby While Taking Her University Exam

As humans, we do what we can with whatever situation life throws at us. As a result, there have been thousands of stories around the world about people showing incredible strength and doing amazing things with the cards they are dealt.

One such story is about an Afghan woman who was pictured sitting on the floor of her classroom, nursing her baby while taking an important university exam, surrounded by other students doing the same.

The photo of the woman, which has now gone viral on social media, was taken in a private university in Afghanistan's Daykundi province.

25-year-old Jahan Taab was taking an entrance exam for a social science course at Nasirkhosraw Higher Education Institute in Nilli city when her two-month-old baby, who she had brought to the exam hall with her, began to cry.

Because it would have been uncomfortable to breastfeed the child at the desk, she sat on the floor and continued working while nursing her baby.

Yahya Erfan, a lecturer at the university who was also supervising the exams, said the image of the young woman multitasking was absolutely inspiring. He took a few photos which he then shared on his Facebook.

Speaking to CNN, Yahya said everyone was in total admiration of Jahan. The young lady has three children and had to travel about eight hours from her native village to take the exam.

This inspiring story has a wonderful ending as Jahan passed her exams with flying colors and plans to study in the social science faculty. However, the major challenge was that Jahan, who is married to a farmer, would be unable to afford the school fees on her own.

According to reports, the girl had spoken with the school administration in hopes of finding a way for them to help her with the funding.

As her story went viral, a British organization, the Afghan Youth Association, set up a GoFundMe to help sponsor Jahan's studies.

A Twitter user also suggested that Afghan clubs in universities could join forces and help this woman who has obviously proven that getting an education is important to her.
