Dog Saved Pregnant Owner's Life By Constantly Barking To Let Her Know Something Was Not Right With Her Health

A dog's persistent barking ended up saving the life of a pregnant woman.

Keola the dog lived with her owners, Ricky and Alhanna Butler. When Alhanna got pregnant, Keola seemed to be very excited. It was like she could not wait to meet her human brother/sister.

However, something soon changed in the dog's mood and for a very long time, the couple could not figure out why.

As the pregnancy progressed, Alhanna began to feel some pain in her lower back. When she brought up her concern with her doctor, she was told that it was probably a pregnancy symptom and that it would soon pass.

The expecting mother returned home, feeling a little relieved that nothing serious was wrong but Keola was not so sure. The woman noticed that her dog was always acting weird. She even said that when she returned from the doctors, Keola stared intently at her as if trying to send a message.

She shared this experience on Facebook with the intention of laughing it off but most people who commented on her post asked her to take her dog's reaction seriously.

As time went on, Keola became more clingy. Even though the couple suspected she was trying to tell them something, no one could figure out what. Alhanna said Keola would often nudge her and cry.

Whenever she went to work, the dog would be distraught which was something that never happened before. She also barked constantly, desperate to pass a message that all was not well with Alhanna's health.

Finally, the pregnant woman decided to take one more trip to the hospital. It turned out she went in just in time as she was told she had a double kidney infection that would have eventually killed her.

Alhanna explained that the fact that the condition went untreated for so long made things worse. Doctors even told her that if she had left it any longer, she would have lost her life and her baby would not have survived too.

Fortunately, she was able to get the help she needed and ended up giving birth to a baby boy named Lincoln.

Dogs are capable of sensing a lot of things that humans can't and thanks to Keola, this mum was able to treat a condition that could have otherwise, been fatal. Now, the dog is besties with the little boy he helped save.
