Parents Lose Their 3 Children In Horrific Car Crash. A Year Later Hope Is Restored When They Welcome Triplets
Truly, there is no pain as deep and as earth-shattering as that of a parent who loses a child. Therefore it is almost hard to imagine what it must be like to lose three children.
This was exactly what Lori and Chris Coble experienced in 2007.
It was a day like any other. Lori Coble was driving home with her three children, Kyle (5), Emma (4) and Katie (2) when a large lorry loaded with 20 tons of goods crashed into them.
The driver of the lorry was reportedly driving at 110 km/h. This was not the first time. He had been previously fined three times for speeding. But after the crash, he was convicted of three counts of manslaughter.
As a result of the crash, Lori was unconscious. When she woke up, it was Chris who had to break the tragic news to her - that their three beautiful children had passed away.
The couple had no choice but to lean on each other during this heartbreaking ordeal. But it was not until six months later that a miracle happened.
Lori found out she was pregnant with triplets - two girls and a boy.
The parents found joy and hope in this news because it meant that their children may have had a hand in the way things turned out. Chris told TODAY:
When you feel that they are somewhere and watch over you, protect you, and something like this happens .. Then it’s hard to believe that they were not involved in any way.
Ashley, Ellie and Jake were born in 2008. Even though they cannot replace the three children they lost, the family has seen a reason to smile since that tragic accident.
The babies brought laughter to their home and the idea of going each day is a lot less daunting.
The triplets are aware that they had three siblings that passed on. Lori and Chris ensure they have pictures of Kyle, Emma and Katie around. And they often go with their parents to visit the cemetery.
This story is bittersweet but we are grateful that the Cobles were consoled in such a wonderful way.
