Incredible Moment Mom Got Emotional At The Sight Of Her Autistic Son Bonding With Service Dog

For two years, this family had waited to meet Tornado and when he finally came into their lives, it was worth the wait. In the picture shared online, an overwhelmed mother saw her child lying on the service dog of his own free will.

This was a boy who would not allow his mom to hug, bathe or dress him or even let her snuggle him or touch him.

It was clear that the boy was almost immediately attached to the dog. And considering how difficult social interactions were for her son, this sweet encounter between dog and boy gave this mother hope.

Shanna's son found it almost impossible to make friends or form any kind of connection with other people. The little boy would cry for months and months as he felt cut off from the rest of the world.

His mother would be there to offer comfort and sit with him as he made sense of the fact that he could not connect with people outside his family no matter how hard he tried.

Shanna explained that for a long time, her son would be disappointed that no matter how hard he worked on his therapies, he just couldn't transfer those exercises to the natural world.

However, watching her son bond with this dog gave the mother the faith she needed that everything would be alright. Everything she had done, all the tests, diagnoses, therapies, school meetings and so on, were now paying off, "because of Tornado."
