'I Am In Awe Of Her': Mom Honors Her Brave Daughter With Down's Syndrome And Four Additional Health Issues On Her Seventh Month Of Living
Little Kitty, born with three heart defects, Down's syndrome, and a stomach defect, lives and thrives, having just celebrated her 7-month birthday.
When this unique baby came into the world on September day, her mom was terrified that the first day of her daughter's life may become the last, as the doctors predicted the girl wouldn't survive outside of her mother's womb.
During the entire pregnancy period, Kitty's mom, Bonnie, felt that evil tidings wouldn't ever stop coming. Bonnie didn't know then how proud she would be of her little survivor.
The horrible news came during a ultrasound, and it felt like a ton of bricks had been dropped on her. Bonnie, the mom of two teenagers and a one-year-old boy, couldn't believe something would be wrong with the pregnancy.
During the 20-week ultrasound session, the heartbreaking truth made a descent upon Bonnie's family, as the test revealed that the woman was expecting a baby with Down's syndrome.
This chromosomal birth defect is quite rare, affecting 1 out of 700 babies in the USA. Although the news about Down's syndrome wasn't what the family had expected to hear, bad luck always arrives in trios, and all the worst was yet to come.
Later on, three heart defects and a digestive tract defect were diagnosed All at once, it meant that the baby would need to be fed through a tube and undergo several heart surgeries immediately after birth.
Several months after 36-year-old Bonnie had given birth to her 'magic girl', she expressed her honor in having her baby, who was finally in calm waters despite all the doctors' predictions.
Little Kitty went through an intestinal surgery, two open heart procedures, and an almost fatal seizure, but she has survived and she has been thriving, putting a smile on her blessed mother's face.
For a devoted mother, waiting for her baby to come out of each surgery feels like torture, but watching how the baby smiles is worth all the efforts.
Bonnie is proud to share Kitty's story of survival on Instagram. Although the girl is expected to be in and out of the hospital during her entire childhood, the family has optimistic predictions and is going to support her throughout her whole life.
